About Our Shop in Red Deer, AB

The Parkland Story -- Parkland Transmission

Our History

Though Parkland Transmission was established in 1980, the shop has actually been around a lot longer. The shop was built by its first owner, Bob Lewis, in the mid-1960’s. After a little over a decade of serving as a Cottman shop, it was sold and re-established as Parkland Transmission. The shop changed ownership a few more times before eventually landing with their current owners, Scott Medori and Mark Klein. Scott and Mark have been proudly working with Parkland for over 20 years and have been co-owning the shop for over 15 years. After deciding to specialize in transmission care, Scott and Mark have built Parkland Transmission into what it is now — one of the top transmission repair shops in Central Alberta.

Our Craft

For the Parkland Transmission team, we invest a lot in ourselves. We believe that in order for us to be the best shop in the industry, we need to provide our team with the best opportunities to grow and succeed. Along with our shop being ATRA Certified, we also encourage all of our technicians to participate in a variety of seminars and training courses so they can get up-to-date with the latest tools and trends to come out of the transmission repair industry.

Once they finish in the classroom, we utilize their knowledge in our garage. Due to the complexity of transmission systems, our service experts must be well versed with a variety of systems and components. We aim to repair all of our customer’s vehicles with the best and current updates, processes, parts, and products. Our team loves to push the envelope in innovation. We bring new tools and technologies into our transmission repairs so our clients can stay on the road longer!

Our Community

For the Parkland Transmission team, we don’t stop at quality transmission care. We’re also active members in the Red Deer community. We are proud supporters and participants for the Alberta Apprenticeship Program. We hire individuals looking to grow their careers in the transmission repair industry and provide them with training opportunities so they can learn and hone their skills. We lso sponsor a variety of youth programs over the years which include local sports teams and Safety City!

Why do we do all this? We do this because of the support we’ve received from our community. It’s because of the Red Deer community that we’ve been able to do business in this area for over 30 years. It’s our way of showing appreciation for the people that have supported us since day one. For more information on what we do and how you can contribute, visit our Community page!
